Publicity Report

Despite the ongoing consequences of Covid-19 preventing us from regularly gathering for our Inter-

Club events, we have still managed to keep the WSRVGA members saturated with Golf News via

our Facebook page.

We are now up to 158 members on FB, as more of our WSRVGA members discover it is a great

opportunity to keep up with news from your Club, the District, the State and often nationally and

internationally.

As members become more familiar and comfortable with the FB site, we are receiving additional

historical information from golfers such as Doug Hayne, who has a mountain of memories from the

now-defunct Nepean District Golf Association (NDGA).

Golf has now also become a regular feature in both the Nepean News and Western News, whilst the

Western Weekender and Blue Mts Gazette also run the occasional story / report.

The strength of our sport is the people who either play, support or encourage it. The more we talk

up the various media outlets which support us, the stronger our influence in the District will

become.

This also applies to our Facebook page, so make sure you read it regularly, hit the Like button on stories you enjoy and feel free to contribute with either news, comments, story leads or golf jokes.
