MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING (11/09/19):
It was moved Ian Forrester, seconded Kim Stockbridge and carried, that the Minutes of the Previous Meeting were a true and accurate record of that meeting.
BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE PREVIOUS MEETING:
Les is hopeful that a Royce Aged Facility sponsorship was still possible for WSRVGA as they are trialling an initial sponsorship with Leonay Golf Club.
Aileen Williams is the new Secretary of NS WVGA.
Thanks to Len Payne (Central Coast) for an outstanding job in this position over many years
Les thanked Chris for acting as Secretary for this meeting.
CORRESPONDENCE:
Chris indicated that Judy would develop a Correspondence List for the next Council meeting. Recent correspondence would be dealt with throughout the Agenda items.

NSWVGA MEDAL EVENT:
Les stated that our four representatives in this inaugural State Event were very excited and pleased to be part of this Event:

Les indicated that the dates for this Event, to be held again in Port Macquarie, are 16-17 Novernber 2020. This means that our representatives will not liliss an InterC1ub Event by clash of dates. Les said that more participants are needed to improve the success of this Tournament.

NSWVGA STROKEPLAY CHAMPIONSHIPS 2020
Chris indicated we had received 92 entries so far with 6 weeks to go. The Tournarnent Committee is next meeting at Dunheved on Wednesday 12 February.
An Expression of Interest has been circulated for 2021-2023 hosting of Major NS WVGA Events. WSRVGA is not intending to nominate. EOI's close in April-May period.
NEW WORLDWIDE HANDICAPPING SYSTEM:
Les explained the basics of the new worldwide handicapping system. He asked whether any Member Club was electing to handicap 45-54 in local competitions. All Clubs present indicated that they were still using the 36-45 system at this stage.
INTERCLUB EVENT AT WALLACIA FRIDAY 14 FEBRUARY
All Club entries received. All Clubs have nominated 18+ players except for Stonecutters (14). Mick said the 3-choice menu was lasagne, chicken schnitzel, or fish, with salads and chips. Les raised the issue of inclement weather likely and should the Event be washed out or called off, then this decision needed to be communicated to all players no later than Thursday evening, the night before the scheduled Event. In response to a question about staffing levels, Mick said he believes there will be 2 or 3 attendants behind the bar at lunch time. Mick further said that some tees (eg- 5, 10, 11, 12) would likely be moved forward to speed up the pace of play.
Les reminded the meeting that Presentations for Club and Player of the Year would be held at Wallacia. Noel Byles is organizing the shirts, Judy Jordan is organizing 3 x $50 vouchers and engraved medals and certificates, and Chris is organizing 2 x $100 vouchers. Judy is also organizing the engraving of the Club of the Year trophy (Penrith).
Noel Byles suggested we think about a nan-re for the Club trophy. He suggested Garry Johnson (\Nindsor) — who launched the idea of WSRVGA or Henry Faulks (Nepean and war hero).

CHANGES TO THE BY-LAWS:
The following By-Law amendments were approved at this Council meeting (5 February 2020):
Section 6.8 DELETED
Explanation: As NS M/VGA no longer distributes a yearly Fixtures Booklet, there is no requirement for the Secretary to distribute these to Member Clubs within 28 days.
Section 2.3 (3) AMENDED To READ
"Reserve players be allocated equally among clubs. The host club has the first right to nominate two (2) reserves. The remaining places to be filled with up to two (2) reserves from clubs in the order that entry forms are received".
Section 4.7 AMENDED To READ
Line 1: "Player of the Year, and Runner Up"
Explanation: Extending the countback systern as defined in Section 4.7 to discrirninate between ties for both Winner and Runner Up.
It was moved, Noel Byles, seconded Greg Burke, and carried unanimously that the amendments be agreed to.
President Les agreed to circulate Updated By-Laws in due course.
PLANNING RICHMOND EVENT TUESDAY 31 MARCH
Deferred in the absence of Jim Lyons and Peter Tallack.
GENERAL BUSINESS:
(i) Mick Toohey requested that Chris send him a list of financial Mernbers to assist with the organization of the Wallacia Event.
(ii) Russell requested that Chris also send him a list of financial Members to assist with Website development.
(iii) Ian noted that as we had an ageing player roster, we may need more carts.
(iv) John Baker spoke about "Golfers for Springwood Hospital" and circulated flyers about the Springwood Golf Event on Friday 13 March
(v) Les asked Chris to request that Secretary Judy write a thank you letter to NS WVGA in regard to their sponsorship of the NSW State Strokeplay Championships to the tune of $2,930 for prizes.
(vi) Les posed the question about whether we should invite Fox Hills Veterans to join WSRVGA? Could the meeting think about this option and its ramfications? For consideration at the next Council meeting. Noel Rowsell added: Could we support a Fox Hills Event in 2020 (eg- in April or November)?
Les thanked all and closed the meeting at 3.50pm.
