1.WELCOME & APOLOGIES:  

John Lovatt (VP), Kim Stockbridge (VP), Chris Sharpe, and Mark Mostyn

Moved Noel Byles, seconded Bruce Baker, and carried, that apologies be accepted.

President Les Knox warmly welcomed all Delegates to the 15th AGM, especially Col Barton, new delegate from Penrith, and declared the meeting open at 2pm.

2. MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS AGM (23.11.22)

The Minutes of the previous Annual General Meeting, having been circulated to all delegates, were taken as read and were a true and accurate record. Moved by Noel Byles, seconded by Bruce Baker and agreed by all that these Minutes be adopted as written.

MATTERS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:

Noel Byles: Minutes asked for expression from clubs to run the Interclub Tournament (SMEG tournament previously run by Richmond).

Les suggested discussion be left to Council Meeting.

3. EXECUTIVE REPORT:

The President’s Report has previously been circulated to all Delegates and the Executive. It was moved by Martin Berg, seconded by Russell Cruickshank and carried that his report be taken as read.

Moved by Jeff Donley, seconded by Peter Watson and agreed by all that the President’s Report be adopted.

4. ADOPTION OF AUDITED FINANCIAL REPORT:

The Draft Audit Report having been circulated to all delegates, was taken as read.

The report has still to be signed off by Ross Fowler. Les and Judy to sign and then it is returned to Ross Fowler. 

Moved by Noel Byles, seconded by Russell Cruickshank and agreed by all that the Draft Audit Report be adopted. 

5. ELECTION OF THE EXECUTIVE:

Les declared all Executive positions vacant. He handed the meeting over to Secretary Judy to begin the elections.

Nominations received by 15thNovember:

President- Nomination Les Knox: Proposer Bob Chruszcz, Seconder Bruce Baker. As there were no other nominations Judy declared that Les Knox has been elected. 

President Les resumed the chair.

Secretary/Treasurer- Nomination Judy Jordan: Proposer Noel Byles, Seconder Chris Sharpe. As there were no other nominations, Les declared Judy has been elected. 

Vice Presidents- 2 Nominations were received:

Noel Byles: Proposer Judy Jordan, Seconder Chris Sharpe. 

Kim Stockbridge: Proposer Les Knox, Seconder Judy Jordan. 

As there were no further nominations, Les declared that Noel and Kim have been elected. 

Les called for any nominations from the floor:

Nomination Noel Hoppe: Proposed by Martin Berg, seconded by Noel Byles.

As there were no further nominations, Les declared that Noel Hoppe has been elected.

On behalf of the meeting, Les congratulated all Executive appointees for 2024.

6. ELECTION OF AUDITOR:

Moved by Judy Jordan, seconded by Peter Watson and agreed by all that Fowler & Co be retained as Auditor.

7. SPECIAL RESOLUTIONS:

Les: Details of these have been circulated.

Part a: refers to Life Membership

b: alter 1.16 Executive can also be a Social Member

Moved by Noel H seconded by Noel B that the changes as circulated, be adopted. All were in favour and the motion was carried.

***SPECIAL RESOLUTION TO WSRVGA AGM 22 NOVEMBER 2023 ***

Life Membership

Insert the following at point 1.22 in Definitions of WSRVGA Constitution.

Life Memberis a past or present Playing Member who has rendered outstanding service to the Association and has been elected to Life Membership of the Association by Special Resolution carried by three quarters majority of those present and voting at an Annual General Meeting. No past or present Member shall be eligible to be a Life Member unless that member had or has been a past or present Member of the Association for no less than a period of ten consecutive years. A person elected to Life Membership may be relieved from payment of any membership subscription.

Amend 1.16 Executive/The Executive of Constitution by adding ‘Social Member’

1.16 Executive /The Executive - means the Playing Members or Social Members nominated by   Member Clubs elected by The Council at an Annual General Meeting.

Insert in definitions a definition of Social Member after 1.33 (Special Resolution) of current constitution.

Social Member

Is a financial social member of an Affiliated Club and who if male has attained the age of fifty-five (55) years or who if female has attained the age of fifty (50) years.

Resolution to amend WSRVGA By-Laws

Amend 7.1 of WSRVGA By-Laws by inserting the words, ‘or Social Members’ so as to read:

7.1 Members of the Executive may only be elected from Playing Members or Social Members nominated by a Member Club.
